$35 million generates maybe $5 million/yr. VT athletics needs 5x+ that


And that’s just to catch up to what it considers aspirational peers. Meanwhile those aspirational peers aren’t sitting around waiting for VT to catch up.

And it’s not like every penny of donation to those aspirational peers goes to athletics either. They have those dreaded big non-athletics donors as well.
